Martha Stainsby is a Canadian poet considered widely published in such journals as National Forum, The Massachusetts Review, Poetry Canada Review (feature), The Hampden=Sydney Poetry Review, Fine Madness, New Cicada (Japan), The Quest (India), Fine Madness, and (Wales; pending publication) The Seventh Quarry; She is the author of one book, Bones In The Bitter Sea, and several chapbooks, including Concatenations. The focus of the work is on elevating awareness of the human experience; It stems from wide reading in eastern and western literature and refers to the major spiritual traditions. She uses the conventions of language poetry and the caesuras in the poems indicate pauses and commas.
