Southering Sun by Victoria Crawford

Southering sun, briefer days

northern Siam

earth and trees fade

to umber and gold,

taking flight

leaves flee northering gusts

Indrawing, withdrawing

breathing introspection

autumn respite

trees sleep

slow life beneath the bark

Poet Victoria Crawford currently lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but wherever this wanderer travels, she is a Californian and a poet of people and nature whether in the Rub al Khali or a bamboo forest in Arashiyama.
