Sidewalk Illusion by Diane Webster

On the sidewalk the lollipop lies

in melting wonder that ants

haven’t found the goodie

to lick down to the chocolate

in how many licks.

Until the lollipop focuses

into a tiny tree limb

snagged by a slip

of red fabric.
