With You by Melissa Gill

We’ll wade in Lake Mead’s mouth

a mortal-made pit of restless water

& talk about faces forming along the edges

of Spring Mountain.

Silhouettes outlining bold chins

& crooked noses, retired giants

slumbering in sound ridges,

silent earth gods petrified in peace.
